Banbury’s rich history is closely tied to the Oxford Canal, which has played a vital role in the town’s development since its completion in 1778. Today, the canal remains a scenic and essential route, attracting visitors from across the country. The Banbury Canal Festival is an annual event which celebrates this heritage, bringing together the town’s top cultural, historical, and entertainment attractions.
